Apple forcing to buy the new OS ?

Ive got the 2.2.1 OS version. I know last week, there was a Love Art version compatible with it. Today, I want to get this app and Im told I need to upgrade the OS. How do you get the previous working and fine version ? Cheers

Pretty cool

Personally, I just wanted to scroll through a gallery with text, not audio commentary. And obviously, since its limited to one art gallery, its missing a lot of great work and artists, most notably Mona Lisa and Raphaels works. But overall, lots of insightful info and wonderful art. Maybe add a feature where you view all the artists work with brief textual descriptions?

Dont miss it

Amazing. And its free!

Its great

Who cares if its missing the Mona Lisa. There is so much art to be discovered and this app goes further than most by providing some insight in to the paintings. Those of us who arent art experts who may miss some of the subtle aspects of a work will appreciate the voice overs. And if you dont like it you can always turn the sound off.

Not very comprehensive - Does not replace audioguide

I bought this to walk around the gallery with thinking it would be better than the audio guide, it is definitely not a replacement for the guide as it only covers a handful of the major works. As a stand alone program it is only ok, much better to watch the "private life of a masterpiece" series or buy a used art history book.

excellent

On recommendation of a friend, I bought this app and am glad I did. The works discussed are at the National Gallery in London which is why the Mona Lisa isnt included (as its in the Louvre!). Interesting background information on artworks, artists - presenters and video quality is very good

Great but short

Great comment about the painting and his background. However, comments cover only 12 paintings. Therefore, ensure that youre interested in Da Vincis Virgin of the Rocks, Van Goghs Sunflowers, Holbeins Ambassadors, Botticellis Venus and Mars, Rembrandts Self Portrait, the Wilton Dyptich, Van Eycks Arnolfini portrait, Jones Wall in Naples, Renoirs Umbrella, Velazquez Rockeby Venus, Vermeers Young Woman Standing at a Virginal and Ingres Madame de Moitessier before buying.

Well Done and Entertaining, but Limited

Good information about a sample of the holdings of the National Gallery in London, England. But oh! Such a small sample of the collection. I bought it, thinking that the NG would be updating it, but apparently not. What you see is what you get. O.k. for a bit of diversion or a beginner writing a school essay as it does show one how to look at a painting. Rather useless for those of us in the field.

Much too limited in scope

Although the concept and presentation are very well done, there are very few paintings presented in the app. I was expecting coverage of way more than 12 paintings! Very disappointed in the developers decision to provide a mere taste of art appreciation through this app.

Misrepresented

In searching for an app/program that may allow students who are visually impaired to learn about art, I found this one mentioned in an article. I immediately purchased it and found that their description of the app Is far from center. Where are the descriptions of the artwork? Another issue worth the app is that it continuously crashes. Id like my $$ back!

Wow, amazing

This is so dense and inspiring, so many ways to look at art, play with artworks, this is really addictive. I wish other museums could have this, will it come soon ?

Amazing

Loved it! I wish there were more apps like this. I hope they come out with Love art 2.

Wow

I am amazed by how nicely designed this app is and the richness of the information contained. There are videos on the background and story for several painters and their art including Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, Sandro Botticelli, Rembrandt, Jan van Eyck, Velazquez, etc. I shall have to visit the National Gallery when I go to London.

excellent

FINALLY, an app for museums -Ive been waiting a long time. I love using this both in and out of the gallery. The images are great; love the pinch zoom to see the details of a painting. Most of all I love hearing the audio and learning secrets about all the paintings. Hope more museums catch on and get one of these.

So FUN - I really do LOVE ART!

What a great AP! I was able to share my experience at the National Gallery with all my friends and family!! I hope to see more updates and more content so I know whats going on at the National Gallery!

gorgeous

Being a museum professional, I can see so many innovative uses for this app. Aside from the fantastic images, videos, and spoken word content – this application is beautifully designed. I really enjoyed the clever ways to access the information (like the spinning wheel). I’d love to see more of these created for museums. This app will help bring museums into the 21st century!

Cool and not over my head

This app is so interesting. I dont claim to understand art but love the National Gallery - this app allowed me to explore artwork even further and now I cant wait to go back to NGL and see these pieces again after learning and zooming in on so much more! Very Cool!

Wonderful Wonderful App!

The audio is a great touch and the small slide shows. The art is beautiful!!! Thank you very very much for this app.!

Bravo

Its great that they offered multiple perspectives. I like hearing from the curators and art historians but its brilliant to invite artists and authors to share their thoughts. Makes me want to go back to London. I hope they will continue to update the app with more works. Well done!

Wonderful

I wish more collections would try something like this.
